I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

Guys,
There are many more trailer-park, red-neck, f*** heads like proud american out there. We really really have to very discreet both at work and other places when we talk about various strategies, like webfax campaign, phone campaign etc.
I was going through the discussion forums of the oppt side too this week and one of the s***heads aparently overheard one of IV members asking ppl to start making phone calls to various senators/congressmen. Then he went throwing on on a barrage of insults at all Indians (i dont know why they want to single out Indians only) calling us pests and all sorts of name-calling. Then he went on to say that the good news is that these 'pests' are planning to go back to their home-lands if they dont get the 'green' soon. So he was asking everyone else to call the senators and oppose the bill. And then the ultimate thing - he says that they "have a lot of legitimate ways to make our lives miserable" in the US...Do i hear KKK there??
This is what happens when we are not discreet at work place. They claim that we are using our work hours to do personal stuff. And he felt obliged to do the same too. Obviously nobody cribs when all of us hard-workers work overtime to get things done.
Anyway, please be careful at work places, be friendly with everyone but have this in your mind that there is someone always overhearing in the next cube/office and possibly monitoring the web sites being visited (like the above guy that i mentioned, did i forget to say that he was the IT admin who was monitoring all the sites that the Indians were visiting?).

Latest update from USCIS - TSC still at 6/30
Has anybody from those who filed at NSC on July 2 (I-140 at TSC), lately called USCIS? NSC has moved for receipting to 7/27, but TSC is still at 6/30

If you have any emergency to go out of country or to change jobs, you can get your passport stamped by taking an Infopass appointment or you can request IO to upload the Biometrics to TSC. you will get the card in 10 or 15 business days after uploading the biometrics. either way your GC is approved..so no worries.
My answer is depending on my experience with GC.

If you think it is that ridiculuous, then you should tell the core members that. They did ask us to call him on the last day of LD. There is nothing wrong in writing to him. In fact, you are making a comparison that is not correct.
Actually, it was an exceptional situation. As you are well aware of, we had to get an unanimous consent if the skil bill were to pass in the LD, so, we needed to have Session's approval. To deflect the situation, he just said that his office hadnt received any positive comments.. When we ended up jamming his phones and gave all the positive comments, what came out of that, nuthing.. he did not budge from his stance.. It was just a ploy and even if the entire US of A had called him, he would not have changed his stance.. He had to score brownie points from his supporters. He knows that the Skil bill will be passed next year, and may be some form of CIR even.. He can then blame it on the democrats and stand for re-election in 2009 with complete support from his supporters..
Its all a gimmick for votes. This is politics, same thing in every country, just more sophisticated here...

Mine is EB2, reached July 2nd at 7.55 AM Fedex received by Robin Williams at NSC and I got the check cashed and has receipt numbers but my I140 LUD is not changed. But my I-140 was already approved and it was not concurrent filling. So if its not concurrent filing then I think I140 LUD should not change or not related to 485 receipt notice? Am I right?

Guys even H1B increases are not that bad. A lot of our spouses could get jobs on h1b if it was open just now. Ultimately isint that what we want? Both husband and wife working?
I know that it could have a possible effect on the EB but I think a LOT of our spouses could work if the H1B quota was available. I know atleast 2-3 such friends whose wives can easily get jobs if the H1B was open.
Provided you bypass those apps that consulting companies line up at the start of the year. This is what Microsoft/Intel etc are trying to counter. They are not getting enough of the H1Bs themselves.

Is there any way we can work for our US employer from India on Indian salary? ......................... So we will just be living in India and working remotely for the employer as a consultant. We will be paying indian taxes as the consulting company will be indian. Any thoughts?

If we see the history H1B and GC numbers were never increased except 2004 20k inpast 15 years In 2000 it was increasd temporarlily for 4 years.Also EB numbers were never increased except temporary reliefs.If it is increased by Skill bill in current form that is really an acheivement. If there is a possiblity they may increase H1B because that is temorary visa(But in reallity not) and GC numbers may remain same. But if increased to 115k then also cap will be reached in another 1 month because there are more number of Desi companies than number of H1Bs. Thats why they are asking exemptions for MS people and 20% adjustment for every year. We have to wait and see whether congress fall on this trap to do this without analysing the impact.

Nma check is history now. After filed I-485, and 180 days passed, name check is not a factor for GC. If your NC is pending, still they issue you a GC.

Sorry if this is not about GC or any US immigration processes...i just would like to know if anybody can help me or provide me the procedures to obtain Canadian PR. I already had an assessment done (me and my husband under H1 here in US as Accountants ) and we have I-140 and 485 pending. We are thinking of trying Canada.
I always checked and read this site but this is my first post and your help would be greatly appreciated.

I did it myself about 5 years back (Aug 2002).. Got approved (Jan 2004) and landed for about 3 days (May 2004) and given friend's address for PR card mailing. He mailed it to my US address... But later I decided to give up Canadian PR for personal reasons... But still it was peace of mind for next 3 years... (2 out of 5 years to maintain PR)...

It seems that the delay was cause by the USCIS itself. It should have made known to applicants where to "correctly" send the application such as if your I-140 was approved in TSC, send your application to TSC. What happened was a lot of applicants sent their application to NSC, but was transferred to TSC. This cause a big delay in Receipting.
My application was sent to the right Service Center. Therefore, I believe, this resulted to my Receipt Notices being received according to the USCIS Receipting Update.
My lawyers sent all their applications to NSC, irrespective of where I 140 was processed. In reality i dont think there was any directive from USCIS askingthem not to do so.
Anyway.. my application was also received by M Schweitzer on Augs 1st 9am.
my I140 was cleared in Texas. So far nothing.
Its good to hear July 31st people getting updates.. gives me reason to cheer!!
